The Final Countdown to Graduation

Applied to graduate? Check. Registered for Commencement? Check. Acquired regalia? Check. Picked up your tickets for Commencement? Check. Picked up your tickets for Class Day? Kidding-no tickets required!

What's left to do? Enjoy the celebratory events, read the day-of-ceremony instructions for CC or SEAS, and make a plan with your guests. It really is the final countdown.

News & Announcements

Department Reception or Family Dinner?

Some departments hold receptions during Commencement Week, but you'll likely want to make reservations at your favorite restaurant now if yours is not among them. We've heard of a few of these, but you should contact your department directly for full details.

No Cap + No Gown = No Class Day (or Commencement!)

All students participating in Class Day and Commencement must arrive with regalia. If you haven't made any arrangements to procure yours, pick up your cap and gown from the Columbia Bookstore ASAP!

Get Tickets to Your Guests BEFORE the Morning of Commencement

Both before AND after Class Day and Commencement, the campus becomes impossible to navigate. Decide ahead of time how you will get things to your guests in advance of the ceremonies (like Commencement tickets or personal items to hold) and where you'll meet them after.

What Should My Class Day and Commencement Guests Know?

For ceremony details, GradZone is an excellent resource for your guests, too! From this one site, they can learn when seating begins, what campus entries to use, and what they'll need to bring.

2014 Graduating Student Survey

Let CCE know the places you’ll go! Fill out the 2014 Graduating Student Survey for a chance to win a Jawbone Jambox or other prizes. If your school has the highest percentage of completed surveys by Commencement, you could win a Beats by Dr. Dre Pill!

Submit Photos for the Class Day Slide Show(s)

Share your favorite Columbia memories! Submit up to three photos to the GradZone webform to be shown in the slide show that will play during Class Day before you process. Photos sent previously to gradzone@columbia.edu will also be included.

Alumni Representative Committee (ARC) Info Session (with Insomnia Cookies. Mmm.)

Interested in interviewing prospective Columbia students once you graduate? Join the Office of Undergraduate Admissions for an informal information session to learn more about the ARC and how to get involved. Thursday, May 15, 5:00-6:00 p.m. in 569 Lerner (RSVP!)

Senior Fund: Last Chance!

The deadline to participate in the CC or SEAS Senior Funds is rapidly approaching! Senior Fund totals will be presented to Deans Valentini and Boyce on Class Day, so all gifts must be in by then. Join classmates in leaving the Class of 2014's legacy: CC | SEAS

Yearbook: The Photos You Can't Get Online

You've got many photos from the past few years, but there's something special about the ones taken by the professional yearbook photographer. Is it the composition, lighting, or the fact that they're okay to show family? Order your yearbook today! #Classy #Columbia2014

Live Webcasts for Class Day and Commencement

Friends and family who are unable to attend Class Day or Commencement may watch watch either ceremony live online. For details, check the Commencement website.
