How Does Robbie Lyman Develop His Community at Columbia?

Columbia College junior Robbie Lyman engages with Community Development as our Live at Lerner intern. A music and math major, Robbie works alongside the Student Engagement team on this stress relief and community building series doing all band bookings and program marketing. Robbie says that through Live at Lerner, "We're out to make students' days better." Meet Robbie at this week's Live at Lerner: Sounds event, and find other ways to engage on and off campus by connecting with Community Development in-person and online today.

Celebrate at the Tree Lighting Ceremony

Welcome winter at the annual tree lighting ceremony on Thursday, December 5. The festivities begin at 6:00 p.m. on Low Plaza and include warm beverages while we countdown to the lighting. Join the student councils and members of the Columbia community for this festive tradition.

Warm-up to Winter at the Yule Log Lighting

Following the Tree Lighting Ceremony, stop by John Jay Lounge for the lighting of the yule log. A Columbia tradition that's more than 100 years old, the yule log lighting includes readings and choral performances. The event begins at 7:00 p.m., but arrive early as space is limited.

Live at Lerner, Ferris Reel, and JJ’s Place Present: Dinner and a Movie

Join us on Monday, December 9, at 8:00 p.m. in JJ’s Place as we enjoy some of JJ’s goodness and watch Love Actually. You do have to swipe into JJ’s, but if you do not have swipe access, Live at Lerner will cover the cost on a first-come, first-served basis.

Funding Offered for Sustainability Projects

The GreenFund is a new $25,000 fund created by CU Dining, Housing, and UEM that provides support for student-led projects directed towards improving sustainability on campus. Four to six winning projects will receive $5,000 to $10,000 each. Apply today!
