"Apply for the Degree" Tomorrow! (11/11)

Checking in at apply for the degree

Join the senior class councils and advising deans from the Berick Center for Student Advising for "Apply for the Degree" on Friday, November 11, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Lerner 555.

This is an opportunity to review and sign your Application for Degree — prepared in advance with your information — and to ask questions about graduation events, pick up giveaways and enjoy yummy snacks.

Check-in

When you arrive, you'll check in and confirm both how your name should be printed in the Class Day program and how it should be read aloud on Class Day. These can be different. For example, one might wish to have "Susan" printed in the Class Day program but have "Sue" read aloud at Class Day. If you have a less common name, this is also an opportunity to clarify your name's pronunciation.

Afterward, you'll pick up, review and sign your application for your degree. Advisers will be on hand if you have questions. Balfour, the class ring representative, and Columbia College and Columbia Engineering senior funds will also be on hand.

There will only be giveaways for those who arrive early, but there will be enough warm cookies for everyone.

How to Apply for Your Degree if You Can't Attend

If you can't make it to Apply for the Degree or are graduating before May, you'll need to fill out and send your application to diplomas@columbia.edu. The deadline for May graduates to apply for their degree is Thursday, December 1.
