Men of Color Alliance (MCA) Seeking Coordinators

The Men of Color Alliance (MCA) is seeking applications for Coordinator(s) positions. MCA is looking for dynamic self-identified men who are enthusiastic about building community with men of color and facilitating exciting and engaging conversations and events around the intersections of race and gender. If you would like to become a coordinator, submit an application by November 12, 2015.

2. Free Trip to NYBG for Holiday Train Show

Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at 11:00am. Don't have a plan the day before Thanksgiving yet? Join International @ Columbia for this exciting outing to the New York Botanical Garden. Hang out with other international students as model trains pass though New York City scenes. A $5 refundable deposit is required. $5 will be returned to you on the day of the event.

3. Thanksgiving Lunch on Thanksgiving Day

Thursday, November 26, 2015 at 11:30 am in John Jay Dining Hall. Undergraduate Student Life and Columbia Dining invite you to join members of the Columbia family for a free Thanksgiving lunch at John Jay Dining Hall. Join us for a delicious meal shared with other students and learn about the history of Thanksgiving. Registration is required.

Tuesday, November 10 at 7:30 pm in Hamilton Room 411. Want to get a free dinner for just being you? Join the International Student Advisory Board focus group to share your adjustment experience as an international student. Dinner will be served at 7:30 pm and the focus group starts at 8:00 pm.

2. Kraft Fund for Intercultural & Interfaith Awareness

The deadline for applications is Monday, November 30, 2015. The Office of the University Chaplain provides funding and administrative support to recognized student groups interested in collaborating together to create an innovative event/program that furthers intercultural and/or interfaith discussion on Columbia’s campus.

3. Humanity in Action Fellowship

The deadline to apply is Thursday, January 7, 2016 at 11:59pm. We invite applications from students and recent graduates of U.S. colleges and universities who are passionate about active and responsible citizenship, diversity and human rights. Current sophomores, juniors and seniors as well as graduates from the undergraduate classes of 2014 and 2015 are eligible.

4. Coalition Against Sexual Violence

Sundays from 12:00-1:00pm. The Coalition Against Sexual Violence is a student group fighting sexual assault on Columbia's campus and pushing the University to implement effective education/prevention programming, expand resources to support survivors, and reform our gender-based misconduct policy. All new members are welcome; no prior knowledge is necessary.

5. Mental Health Task Force (MHTF)

Mondays from 7:00-8:00pm in Lerner Hall, Student Government Office (SGO). The Mental Health Task Force (MHTF) is a project-oriented group focused on reviewing and improving Columbia University policies, procedures, and resources to better accommodate the needs of those students with mental health issues and of those peers who support them. All University-affiliated students are welcome to join and participate in MHTF
