Spanish and French Placement Exams

If you previously studied Spanish or French and wish to continue your studies of either language while at Columbia, you should take an online placement exam. Note that the exam may be taken only once. Follow the link below (password is roaree1). It will take approximately 20-25 minutes to complete.

Additional Language Placement Exams

If you wish to continue your studies in another language while at Columbia, you will have the opportunity to take a language placement exam during NSOP. By late August, the schedule of placement exams during NSOP will be accessible via the link below.

Insure Your Belongings Before Arrival

Are your belongings insured through a parent or guardian’s homeowner’s policy? If not, we encourage you to insure them through another vendor. The University assumes no responsibility for the loss or damage of students’ property while residing in Columbia Housing.

Look Into Campus Refrigerator Rentals and Sales

Housing facilitates refrigerator-microwave rentals through MicroFridge, the only University-approved combination unit. Refrigerators that meet the size and energy requirements can also be purchased at the University Bookstore or at the EcoReps' Green Sale.
