Class Day: What You Need to Know

It's now or never, Class of 2015! Just in case the pressure of finals and the excitement of Senior Week activities have kept you from reading our previous GradZone emails, what you need to know now for your Class Day ceremony is both below and on the Commencement Week app. Stay tuned next Tuesday afternoon for our "Need to know" summary of University Commencement.

What to Wear

1. Dress for the weather - Right now, the forecast says highs will be in the low 70s: sunny on Monday and a chance of rain on Tuesday. Fortunately, your seats are tented for Class Day to shade you from the sun and protect you from the rain.

2. Choose shoes you can walk in - You'll be navigating paving stones, some AstroTurf, and a ramp that's not too kind to high heeled shoes. Plan accordingly.

3. Cap & Gown - Still need these? Pick yours up from the bookstore today! You must wear them to participate.

What to Bring

1. CUID (or photo ID if you graduated in October or February)

2. Pocketable necessities - You'll be moving from Lerner to the lawns to the stage and back, so don't plan to bring anything you'd need to leave at your seat. Also note that you'll be seated pretty darned close together. The only way we can get that many chairs onto the lawn is to mimic the seat spacing of a low-cost airline.

SEAS Class Day: Monday, May 18

Professional Photography at Class Day

You'll pose two times for a professional GradImages photographer as you make your way onto and off of the stage. The first time will be as you approach the stage, with the line of classmates behind you. The second time will be right after you exit the stage, as you are descending the ramp. A picture of you in motion will be taken in between these two. GradImages will email a link to preview and purchase your pictures after the ceremony.
