Class Day: What You Need to Know

It's now or never #Columbia2014. Just in case the pressure of finals and the excitement of Senior Week activities have kept you from reading our previous GradZone emails, what you need to know now for your Class Day ceremony is both below and on the Commencement Week app under the "Details" tab after selecting your ceremony. Stay tuned Tuesday evening for our "Need to know" summary of University Commencement.

*SEAS Class Day: TONIGHT!*

Step one:
Grab your regalia and your CUID
or, if you graduated in October or February, a photo ID. You cannot process without regalia. Pick it up from the Columbia Bookstore. Otherwise, bring as little with you as possible since there will be no storage or security for your items.

Step two:
Between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m., head to Roone Arledge Auditorium in Lerner Hall to check in.
This is where you will pick up your name card, which you will give to the advising deans reading names just before you cross the stage.

Step three:
Line up on the ramps by 4:55 p.m., when the bells ring to signal the start of the procession. To sit near your friends, make sure they are either in front of you or behind you in the same line. Senior Marshals, Class Day award winners, Senior Fund chairs, named award winners, and King's Crown Leadership Excellence Dean's Award winners are needed in line by 4:00 p.m. for photos.

*CC Class Day: TOMORROW!*

Step one:
Grab your regalia and your CUID, or, if you graduated in October or February, a photo ID. You cannot process without regalia. Pick it up from the Columbia Bookstore. Otherwise, bring as little with you as possible since there will be no storage or security for your items.

Step two:
Between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m., head to Roone Arledge Auditorium in Lerner Hall to check in. This is where you will pick up your name card, which you will give to the advising deans reading names just before you cross the stage.

Step three:
Line up on the ramps by 9:25 a.m., when the bells ring to signal the start of the procession. To sit near your friends, make sure they are either in front of you or behind you in the same line. Senior Marshals, Class Day award winners, Senior Fund chairs, named award winners, and King's Crown Leadership Excellence Dean's Award winners are needed in line by 8:30 a.m. for photos.

Professional Photography at Class Day

You'll pose two times for a professional GradImages photographer as you make your way onto and off of the stage. The first time will be as you approach the stage, with the line of classmates behind you. The second time will be right after you exit the stage, as you are descending the ramp. A picture of you in motion will be taken in between these two, as you are shaking hands with President Bollinger. GradImages will email a link to preview and purchase your pictures after the ceremony.
